Afea Productions

Afea Productions was established in the UK in 2015 by Fanis Mezinis and Elena Hadjiafxendi. Afea’s ongoing project is, ‘Travelling Greek Culture: Recovering lost Homelands”, which aims to redefine and recreate notions of ‘Greekness’ through the promotion of Greek music and literature overseas. The project focuses on familiarizing the public with musical and literary work, which have been landmarks in the Greek cultural history by introducing well-known Greek composers to the British cultural scene, with the aspiration to have them reinterpreted afresh from a transnational perspective.

Afea’s fist production was the performance “Axios Esti, A Tribute to the Greek Composer Mikis Theodorakis” in London at Union Chapel in October 2015 and the second one was the performance “The child with the Drum”, George Hatzinasios Live in London, a Special Dedication to the homeless refugee children arriving in Greece.
