Biography

Elena Hadjifaxendi is a well known Greek- Cypriot actress, soprano and performer. She has developed an eclectic and distinctive style that blends music with literary recitation and drama. She has given the genre of Music Theatre a new artistic dimension with her beguiling performance of wildly poetic stories with a strong and philosophical undercurrent.
Elena studied Opera at the Conservatory Eleftero in Greece, acting at the Drama School of National Theatre of Northern Greece and musical theatre at Associated Studios in London. She has graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with a Bachelor in Primary School Education and from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens with an MA in Drama and Education.
She has worked in Cyprus, Greece, UK and Italy with many directors and musicians in classical and contemporary theatre, on musical theatre, operettas, cinema and television. She currently lives in Cyprus but she performs often in Greece and UK working with artists from other cultures and on different projects.
Elena Hadjiafxendi has collaborated and performed with some very important directors and composers like Heinz-Uwe Haus, Fabio Tolledi, Mikis Theodorakis, George Hatzinasios, Spyros Evaggelatos, Alexandros Evklidis, Thanos Mikroutsikos, Elli Papakonstantinou, Eustathia, Alex Roth and many others.

Elena also works as a teacher, leading acting, directing, improvisation and creativity workshops for all sorts of different groups, both professionals and students.
She is a founding member of Pyrinas Artist Collective.
